HealthCIO is committed to providing you with
a highest quality health information content and resources in
which your Internet privacy is protected. The following is our
policy regarding user Internet privacy.
Collection
of Personal information
To view our website, we do not require any
personal information. However, in order to receive our free publications,
newsletters or healthcare headlines, we require some identifying
information. The information helps us customize our content and
provide better services and products to health care professionals.
Since our website is free, we never request credit card or other
financial information. All personal identifying information is moved
to another computer not connected to the Internet and removed
from the Internet connected computer. While on our website, all
information is kept in a secured area.
Privacy
HealthCIO supports permission based marketing
only. Therefore, you must opt-in to receive notices of conferences,
our newsletter or alerts. HealthCIO will not sell or exchange
members' registered e-mail addresses to any other party or organization
without the explicit permission of the user, nor will it supplement
this information with information provided by 3rd party providers.
E-Mail lists of customers are not published for customers or affiliates
to use since this increases the possibility of getting spammed.
However, e-mail addresses are available only to the administrator
of the HealthCIO publications as a requirement for receiving newsletters
and other custom content. HealthCIO will never release any individual's
information to 3rd parties unless subpoenaed or ordered by court
of law.
COPPA. Under COPPA any minor child under 13 years of age
must obtain parent's permission before registering with
HealthCIO.com.
Update/delete/deactivate
E-Mail Services
Members can request changes to e-mail services
delivered by HealthCIO, including requests to receive no e-mail
services. Members can also request to have their email address
eliminated from the HealthCIO database altogether by contacting
HealthCIO tech support at info@HealthCIO.com. However, once
the e-mail address is deleted, the member loses access to valuable
information delivered via E-mail.
Log Files
HealthCIO records the following information
in our web logs: IP address, browser type (e.g. whether you user
Netscape or Internet Explorer), the page requested and the time
of each page request. We collect this information to: track times
to manage resources, analyze trends to provide better service,
and for other site administration. This demographic information
will be used only to provide better, more targeted services to
our members.
Security
Access to computer data and files at HealthCIO
are secured by password coding and internal file security by our
web hosting company Network Solutions. Any sensitive information is
removed from any possible Internet access and placed on a computer
that is secured and can only be accessed by authorized HealthCIO
employees.
SPAM
At HealthCIO, we recognize that the value of
open free exchange of information and communication and that preventing
spam is vital to the health and value of these communities. HealthCIO
is committed to preventing spam wherever possible.Occasionally we may send out special notices or promotions. You
have the right to remove your name from our mailing list at any
time by sending a message to unsubscribe
